Why work with Kellyn
Hi, I'm Kellyn Jason! I am a certified personal trainer, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, and Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.
I started personal training and coaching in January 2018, have been running KJW since April 2021, and I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their goals. I was first exposed to the health and wellness field because I found myself in need of support. In my mid-twenties, I was obese, working a desk job over 40-hours a week with little movement and had no exercise routine - and realized how unhealthy and unhappy I was. I found a trainer and nutrition coach, and became consistent in my own journey. Through my own journey, I realized how much better I felt having consistent movement in my life and I realized my passion for learning more about the body and how exercise effects it. I knew I wanted to help others with this and have been doing so ever since.
I take a unique approach with my clients focusing on education, goal-setting, and behavior change surrounding diet, physical activity, mindfulness, and exercise. I use the knowledge I gained earning my B.S. in Psychology from Worcester State University and recently, my M.S. in Exercise and Health Sciences from University of Massachusetts Boston to support this approach. My goal is to help the people I am fortunate to work with look at a healthy lifestyle with a more attainable lens and learn about all of the benefits to exercise aside from just weight loss.
I am currently applying to PhD programs in hopes to continue learning more about the body. I have been fortunate enough to get involved in research and teaching and am so excited to continue to pursue this path. Because of this, I am only able to coach a limited number of clients. Kellyn is my “life saver”! Two years ago, I broke my ankle at the age of 66, had surgery, and thought I would never get back to an active life. Then I met Kellyn. She worked beyond what I would have expected from a trainer. Following two months in physical therapy Kellyn became my personal trainer. She helped me rebuild my strength, balance and confidence and gave me the encouragement that I needed to heal.
Two years later, I am still working out with Kellyn. She supports me both physically and emotionally. Her supportive nature comes through time and again. She has helped me to maintain a strong and healthy body. I have worked out for many years, but as I get older and start to feel my age, Kellyn’s gentle push has kept me challenging myself to do more.
Kellyn has an extensive knowledge base. I am still a work in progress, but with her help I am making continual strides in my strength, endurance, mindfulness, and nutrition. I have great trust in her and have no reservations about referring her to others.
